Food, allied workers hold protest

JAMMU: The Food and Allied Workers Union Jammu held a protest at CAPD Store Nehru Market. The workers working in all the CAPD stores assembled and shouted slogans for early redressal of the long pending genuine demands.
While addressing the workers, the President of the Union, Bishan Dass said that the workers are demanding for the revision of bag rates as per price index from December, 2012, enhancement of MWG at par with FCI pattern, release of monthly wages by or before 10th of each month, timely deposition of contributions deducted from workers on a/c of Provident Fund, ESI and LIC, release of pending payments to Muffassil workers, provision of listman for city supply, grant of city supply lead charges and implementation of Pension Scheme.
“The department has been turning deaf year by adopting dilly-dally tactics instead of encouraging the workers,” he said adding that in absence of any respond from the department concerned, the workers have been wailing for want of justice.
“The workers are on Dharna observing complete Bandh in all the food-stores in the entire State of Jammu and Kashmir with determination,” he disclosed.
“The workers are fed-up with the callous attitude of the officers and would continue their struggle to its logical end for which complete Bandh in the State will last till the goal is achieved,” Bishan said.
