RAJOURI-POONCH: Madan Lal Sharma former MP and Ex. Minister accompanied by Kuldeep Raj Verma, Vice Chairman OBC, Shabir Ahmed Khan, Former Health Minister, Sain Abdul Rashid Genl.Secy , Ch. Akram, Sr. Cong. Leader and other senior leaders concluded a four days extensive tour of Rajouri, Poonch Districts.
Madan Lal Sharma said that Rajouri and Poonch are doubly hit by the natural calamity i.e floods and landslides which have caused extensive devastation to the area. He demanded more focus of Central and State Government as no help has reached to the internal cut off areas so far. Sharma voiced for immediate restoration of internal road connectivity so that relief can reach to the people.
“I have visited some camps at Mandi, Surankote Haveli, Thanamandi and Rajouri and other affected places i.e Sathra, Galoti , Bufliaz, Potha, Daheri Layote, Behrote, BG,Thanamandi, Manjakote, Chingus, Nowshera, Lam Pata Rajpura, Thandapani and Sunderbani . Some camps are supported by government and some by community but the facilities are inadequate and people are suffering added Sharma.
Sharma said that people immediately need food as well as non food items like tents, tarpaulin sheets, utensils, warm cloths and blankets adding that the uniform, books and shoes of school going children have either been washed away or destroyed and as such children are in the state of trauma and massive damage has also been caused to the schools. He said that there is much more damage of houses, property and cattle as is projected by the administrations so far.
Sharma also expressed solidatory with those who lost their lives . He visited to console village Pata Rajpura in Nowshera where a Barat bus was washed away.
Ex. MP appealed to all political , social and religious organisations to come forward and support the victims in Rajouri-Poonch.
