Dear Editor,
The Houses are routinely adjourned, but issues of public interest hardly matter to our elected representatives. They are elected, so they can take up and resolve issues pertaining to the people. Allegations and counter allegations are being made against one another, with least concern to matters that pertain to the public. The Chair has an important duty to run the House. Members of both Houses must maintain decorum for the smooth conduct of the proceedings. India is the world’s largest democracy and democracy runs from the ‘temple of democracy’ – Parliament.
