JAMMU: On the 69th martyr day of Major Som Nath Sharma, BJP organised a programme at Balidaan Stambh here on Thursday wherein the party leaders remembered and paid rich tributes to this great soldier. Led by BJP State President and MLA Sat Sharma and Lok Sabha MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, the party activists assembled at Balidaan Stambh to lay wreath and also pay tributes.
Sat Sharma, on this occasion, said that the real tribute to Major Som Nath will be to take pledge to keep ourself always prepared to face any challenge which poses threat to the unity and integrity of the motherland. The programme was organised by Jammu District President Baldev Singh Billawaria and vote of thanks was presented by District General Secretary, Sunil Sharma.

Anil Gupta, Yudhvir Sethi, Pawan Khajuria, Sanjay Baru, Anuradha Charak, Balbir Ram Rattan, Rajeev Charak, Rashpal Singh, Munish Sharma, Purnima Sharma, Murari Lal, Ayodhya Gupta, Vinay Gupta, K.B. Dogra Brahman Pratinidhi Sabha celebrated 69th Balidan Diwas of Shaheed Major Som Nath Sharma with great fervour in the Sabha premises here.
In this connection, a function was held at Brahman Sabha under the chairmanship of Sabha President, Ved Parkash Sharma in which people from all walks of life participated. Paying rich tributes to Shaheed Major Som Nath Sharma, senior BJP leader and Convener Tawi Andolan, Chander Mohan Sharma said that Major Som Nath belonged to a family of army officer and his younger brother General V.N Sharma raised to the rank of Chief of the Army Staff. They also announced that the Sabha has decided to approach the government for provide a suitable place for installing the statue of Shaheed Major Som Nath Sharma in Jammu city.

Meanwhile, Bawa Kailakh Dev Parbandhak Committee and State BJP Kissan Morcha also paid tributes to Major Som Nath Sharma on his death anniversary here.
