First Media-XI Triangle Series; Media- XI CC beat Sterlite CC by 33 runs in opening match

JAMMU: Media-XI Jammu defeated Sterlite Cricket Club by 33 runs in the inaugural match of the first Media-XI Triangle Series being played at Phallian Mandal Cricket Ground.
Earlier, Media XI led by Skipper Mir Imran won the toss and elected to bat first.
Amit Kumar (54 runs off 23 balls) helped Media XI to post a challenging 159 runs for the loss of six wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Faheem Tak (37 runs off 26 balls) and Rahul Khatri 27 runs were the other contributors to the total.
For Sterlite side, Sushant, Rajat, and Avinash took two wickets each in 4-over spell.
Chasing the target, Sterlite CC, led by Harpal Singh could not get through and ended up making 137 runs, thus lost the match by 33 runs. Gourav Gupta (46 runs off 38 balls) remained the top scorer for Sterlite CC while Shakeel scored 24 runs off 21 balls.
Sachin Jamwal from Media-XI CC grabbed three wickets in 4 overs’ spell while Ranjeet Singh took two. Yash Khajuria and Rahul Khatri also scalped one wicket each.
Sachin Jamwal was adjudged Man of the Match for his overall performance with three wickets and 10 runs to his credit.
The Tri-series is being organised by Media-XI Cricket Club Jammu.
On the occasion, Media- XI CC vowed for promoting sports and initiating the movement against drugs.
