JAMMU: The first aid training programme organised by the Indian Red Cross Society, Jammu Region under the aegis of St. John Ambulance Association, Region Centre Jammu for the commercial vehicle driver/ conductor and employees of IFCA Bottling Company, Gangyal, Jammu concluded here on Thursday. More than 30 participants took part in the said training. The training was imparted by the senior consultants on the subject namely Dr. Satish Sharma, Ex- Medical Superintendent Government SMGS Hospital, Jammu, Dr. Rajinder Thappa, CMO Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu, Dr. Bias Dev, Ortho Surgeon, GMC Jammu, Dr. Kavita Nijohn and Dr Simriti, Medical Officers of Red Cross Dispensary.
Vikas Sharma, Joint Commissioner Transport, Jammu was the Chief Guest at the valedictory function, who appreciated the efforts taken by the Red Cross for imparting first aid training which is mandatory. Jt. Commissioner, Transport, Jammu stressed upon the first aid trainers to observe the traffic rules and also make their vehicles road worthy and pollution free. R.C Puri, Honorary Secretary IRCS, Region Jammu and Sita Ram Sharma, Member Executive Committee expressed gratefulness to Chief Guest for the healthy interaction with the first aid trainers.
