JAMMU: In a crackdown on the sale and use of banned string, ‘gattu’, FIR has been filed against individuals found in possession of the prohibited material.
Based on frequent inspections and surprise checks, FIRs have been lodged against Amit Dogra and Munish Salpona, both residents of Janipur, for the recovery of the banned Gattu string from their residential complexes cum shops.
The action was taken by Tehsildar Jammu North, Aman Kumar Anand and Naib Tehsildar Mishriwala, along with a police team. The seized stock of banned thread has been immediately confiscated. The District Magistrate has emphasised the need for all individuals to refrain from the sale and use of the banned thread and has warned of stern action against anyone found guilty of violating the orders.
