FIR in 2012, sanction in 2014, charge-sheet in 2015

JAMMU: After five months of prosecution-sanction, the State Vigilance Organisation (SVO) on Thursday charge-sheeted a Revenue official in a case related to bribery of Rs 1,000. Interestingly, the case was registered three years ago and it was a proved case as the official was caught red handed.
The sanction for prosecution of Manzoor Ahmad Awan, the then Patwari halqa Kaloosa Bandipora was granted vide No. 18-GAD(Vig) 2014 dated 16th July 2014 but the SVO produced a challan in the Court of Special Judge Anti-Corruption Srinagar Y.P Bourney this morning.
FIR 12/2012 was registered against accused Manzoor Ahmad Awan in 2012.
The accused was caught red handed while demanding/accepting a bribe of Rs.1000 as gratification from one Ghulam Qadir Sheikh, son of Ghulam Mohammad Sheikh, resident of Muslimabad Kalsoo Bandipora for issuance of revenue extract in respect of pasture land under his possession.
