UDHAMPUR: Acting swiftly on the consumer’s complaints regarding less weighing during delivery, overcharging and non issuance of bill, a team of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) booked a prominent fertilizer store in the district
A team of Legal Metrology Department (LMD) under the supervision of District Development Commissioner, Ravinder Kumar led by Assistant Controller LMD Udhampur Anita Sharma accompanied with Inspector Rita Sharma inspected the M/S Kissan fertilizer Store Bus Stand, Udhampur and found that the bags of Urea and DAP less in weight against the net weight of 50 kg.
Moreover the weighing scale kept at store was defective one and not verified for the last one year. A case was booked against the store and fine of Rs 20,000 was imposed for violation of various provisions of weights and measures laws. The department appealed the general public to approach the office for redressal of their genuine complaints.
