FCI employees protest against proposed trifurcation

JAMMU: A daylong Dharna at all regional offices of Food Corporation of India (FCI) throughout the country was held on Tuesday to protest against trifurcation of FCI by Ministry of Food, Government of India.
In this regard, FCI employees under the banner of FCI Executive Staff Union held protest in front of office of General Manager, FCI Regional Office Jammu. The FCI employees lodged their protest against the proposed trifurcation.
They demanded no trifurcation of FCI, percentage based fringe benefits under cafeteria approach to category 3rd and 4th at par with category 1st and 2nd in FCL, approval and implementation of new pension scheme, logical improvement in storage losses norms, appointment of forwarding agents or insurance coverage to RTL, sanction of additional staff and acceleration in recruitment process and regularisation of casual workers, etc.
Those who addressed the gathering include Bhupinder Singh, Patron, Sukhdev Singh, Chief Advisor, B.D Sharma, State Secretary, Karam Chand, Chairman SC/ST Association, Natha Ram, State Secretary SC/ST Association, Amit Gupta Working State Secretary, Dharampal District Secretary and Keshav Sawhney, Additional District Secretary.
