UDHAMPUR: A 60-year-old man and his son were on Tuesday found murdered in their house at Panchayat Badola Block Pancheri here.
Taking immediate cognizance of the crime, a police party headed by Additional SP M.L Kaith, under the supervision of DIG Udhampur-Reasi Range Surinder Gupta and SSP M.S Chowdhary, along with forensic team rushed to the spot.
“The bodies of Siraj Din and his son Binaya (26) were recovered from their residence in Badola Village of Pancheri, with injury marks on their heads,” SSP Udhampur M.S Chowdhary said.
Meanwhile, according to sources, a group of unknown persons forcibly entered into the house of Siraj Din and after overpowering him started hitting him with a sharp edged weapon. Sources further disclosed that Siraj’s son Binaya, who was in the house, also came under severe attack.
“In the scuffle both father and son got killed and were left in a pool of blood whereas accused succeeded to flee from the scene of crime by taking advantage of darkness”, sources added.
SHO Pancheri Sanjeev Abrol after receiving the information rushed to the spot, followed by senior police officers and forensic experts. After taking circumstantial evidences, police have rounded up some suspects for questioning.
The bodies of the father and son have been handed over to the family after performing autopsy at PHC Landar. Pancheri Police have registered a case under Section 302 Cr.PC and started further investigation.
