JAMMU: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Secretary, Farooq Khan, who has been appointed as Administrator of Lakshadweep, was given rousing reception by BJP activists at Jammu Airport on his arrival here after being assigned the new responsibility. BJP State President and MLA Sat Sharma alongwith State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, led the party activists to receive him at the airport. Sat Sharma, while congratulating Farooq Khan for his new assignment, said that the BJP led NDA Government has indeed chosen a great nationalist personality for the important post of the Administrator of Lakshdweep and it is also the honour of the party activists of Jammu and Kashmir.
Farooq Khan expressed gratitude to the party’s national and State units as well as government at the Centre for their decision of providing him an opportunity to serve the people outside own State and assured to make every effort to come up to the expectations of the party and the government.
State Vice-President Yudhvir Sethi, State Secretary Vikran Randhawa, Jammu District President Baldev Singh Billiwaria, Training Department State Incharge Rajeev Charak, State Working Committee Members Ashok Khajuria and Indu Bhushan Sharma, District General Secretary Vinay Gupta, Mahila Morcha District President Rekha Mahajan, party leaders Vikram Sharma, Parshottam Sharma, Sharda Devi and others were present at the airport to receive Farooq Khan.
