RAJOURI: Minister of State for Haj and Auqaf, PHE and Irrigation and Flood Control, Power Development, Industries and Commerce Farooq Ahmad Andrabi on Tuesday chaired a meeting of district officers to review the functioning of the departments in the district.
Deputy Commissioner, Shabir Ahmed Batt, Senior Superintendent of Police, Rajeshwar Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mumtaz Choudhary, Executive Engineers PHE and PDD besides General Manager DIC were present in the meeting.
The minister took stock of the services being extended to the people by the PHE and PDD departments. He stressed upon the officials to perform their duties with dedication so as to ensure adequate power and water supply. He asked them to carry out regular inspections in their respective areas for better services to the people.
The minister also took stock of the functioning of industries Department in the district.
The minister reviewed the status of establishment of the industrial estate in the district.
General Manager DIC informed the minister that 121 Kanal of land has been acquired at Thandapani while 122 Kanal has been acquired at Lamberi besides 180 Kanal has been identified at Gurdan for the purpose.
The minister directed the Deputy Commissioner and General Manager to expedite work on these industrial estates so that people could avail benefit at the earliest.
The minister also took stock of the arrangements being put in place by the district administration for the people of border villages who have been evicted from their native villages in wake of ceasefire violations on the Line of Control.
Deputy Commissioner apprised the minister that camp officers have been appointed for each camp who monitor the basic facilities being extended to the people in these camps.
