Farewell Parade held for DG CRPF

GURGAON: The farewell parade for Dilip Trivedi, DG CRPF was held here at Group Centre, CRPF, Kadarpur, Gurgaon.
Eight contingents including Mahila, RAF and the jungle warriors-COBRA participated in the magnificent march-past. The parade was followed by a spectacular show of dare-devils by the women warriors of CRPF.
Welcome address was delivered by P.V.K Reddy, ADG (HQrs), in which he deliberated upon the achievements during the tenure of Dilip Trivedi.
Dilip Trivedi in his address said that the force is ready to face all challenges. He said that the jawans have demonstrated extreme patience in the face of grave provocation in the Valley. He said that CRPF is so popular that Chief Ministers of all States demand CRPF personnel for law and order duties.
Deliberating upon the problems being faced by jawans in the Force, Trivedi said that the biggest problem faced by them is being deployed far from home, which was tried to be addressed by making a new transfer policy. He also said that Supervisory Officers have been instructed to stay with their subordinates and jawans.
Trivedi stated that it is a matter of pride that the Force has won 71 Gallantry Medals in its 75th year of Raising. He also said that the martyrs of the Force have now been conferred the status of ‘Shaheed’. He said that conducting peaceful elections in Naxal affected States was very difficult but the force did it with flying colours resulting in substantial increase in voting percentage.
Earlier, he paid homage at the Martyrs’ Memorial. He was presented with a memento by P.V.K Reddy, ADG (HQ).
Later, he inaugurated the CRPF Museum, which houses heritage items of CRPF.
