RAJOURI: Himalayan College of Education Rajouri on Thursday organised an extension lecture for the students on ‘Essentials of Education Methodology and Importance of Teaching Social Science’ in the multipurpose hall of the institution. The key speaker Prof. Shabir Hussain Shah Principal Govt. Degree College Mendhar who also chaired the programme deliberated on the issue, which was deeply appreciated by the students.
Prof Shah impressed upon the students to understand the real meaning of education which includes the discovery of self, realisation of one’s potential, abilities, values orientation, formation of a positive and constructive human beings, identifying a larger role for the betterment of society, inculcation of tolerance and peace among the younger generation. He also elaborated the term social science its importance and methodology of teaching for effective learning.
The lecture was followed by a question answer session where large number of students participated which proved to be a very knowledge enhancing and concept clearing one. A brief cultural programme was also a part of the event.
The Principal of the College Prof Sharief Chouhan delivered the welcome address and also announced a calendar of events including series of extension and interactive lecturers to be organised in the days to come.
