KISHTWAR: The Kishtwar unit of National Students Union of India (NSUI) Jammu and Kashmir on Friday demanded to extend the last date for online registration of post-matric scholarship for minority students in Jammu and Kashmir.
Addressing a press conference at Kishtwar, Prakash Singh Dadwal District President NSUI Kishtwar said that Board for majority of the courses mainly JKSBOTE failed to declare the result in Jammu and Kashmir due to recent floods in the State therefore aspiring students could not apply for the scholarships. Dadwal appealed to the concerned authority to extend the date for online registration of post-matric scholarship so that students get a fair chance to apply for the popular UPA government initiated scheme for the welfare of minorities.
Lambasting Social Welfare Department in Kishtwar and alleged that department has failed to deliver the scholarships to students whose cases had been already sanctioned.
He appealed to the Director Social Welfare Department to intervene in the matter for the welfare of minorities.
