Exhibition of low-cost teaching aids held at MIER

JAMMU: To commemorate the National Science Day, an exhibition on teaching aids was organised at MIER College of Education, here on Friday.
Dr. Renu Gupta, Director and Principal, MIER College of Education was the Chief Guest. She was accompanied by Dr. Adit Gupta Joint Director MIER, Dr. Annie Koul, HoD B. Ed Deptt.
along with the faculty and the students.
Dr. Renu Gupta inaugurated the exhibition.
The exhibition was the culmination of teaching aids workshop in which the trainees were given an orientation regarding different kinds of low-cost teaching aids-conventional/ non
conventional, projected
and non-projected, three dimensional aids and working models.
The entries to the exhibition included a variety of teaching aids from different subjects like low-cost
improvised aids, two and three dimensional models both static as well as working, flip-charts, graphic teaching aids etc.
Dr Gupta appreciated the efforts of the students and the staff stressed upon the significance of multisensory experiences which can be provided only through the audio-visual aids and suggested that students, should use novel and innovative techniques in preparing low-cost teaching aids in all the subjects.
Following which the exhibition was made open for students. Overall it was a great success as it helped the students in gathering new ideas and knowing the views of the experts.
