KATHUA: Different teams of Excise sleuths on Thursday destroyed 840 Kg Lahan during separate raids conducted across Jammu Province.
According to report, the Excise Sleuths of Kathua Excise Range along with Excise Eradication Wing Jammu conducted series of raids in villages Kokhyal, Muthikhurd, Barnoti and adjoining areas of district Kathua and destroyed 600 Kg of Lahan, 52 bottles and 15 pouches of illicit liquor prepared from Lahan. The raids were conducted under the command of ETO, Kathua Excise Range, Sandeep Gupta, and ETO Eradication, Jammu Suresh Sharma.
Meanwhile, another team under the command of ETO Udhampur-Reasi Excise Range Naresh Koul raided Kalla, Shanadi, Thiyoth, Bagga and other areas of Reasi and destroyed 130 Kg Lahan and 5 bottles of illicit liquor prepared from Lahan.
Excise team Samba under the command of ETO Samba Excise Range Tina Mahajan raided the Ramgarh, Randwa, Nandpur and other areas of Vijaypur and destroyed 110 Kg Lahan on the spot.
“The Department has initiated multi-pronged strategy to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liqour. Inspection teams have been activated and there shall be no laxity for those who violate the law”, the handout of the department stated.
