Excise sleuths destroy over 1050 Kg Lahan, 35 bottles of liquor

KATHUA: Excise sleuths on Thursday conducted raids at Chibachak and Jakhbardabra areas of Kathua district and destroyed 1050 Kg Lahan and 35 bottles of illicit liquor besides a working still.
According to reports, under the active supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu Mohammed Shahid Saleem, the Excise Team Kathua under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer, Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and Excise and Taxation Officer, Eradication and Enforcement Wing Jammu Suresh Sharma raided the Chibachak and Jakhbardabra areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor. In the process more than 1050 kilograms of Lahan, 35 bottles of illicit liquor made from Lahan, which is highly injurious to health was recovered. The raiding team also recovered a working still from state land which was later destroyed by the team on spot.
