BISHNAH: The excise team led by ETO Excise Range South Noeem Moughal and ETO Eradication Wing Jammu Suresh Sharma conducted a series of raids in village Deoli, Makhanpur, Sale-har, Sikanderpur, Dobleha, Kotli-Charkan, Haslochak, Tarachak and Phinder in Bishnah and RS Pura Ranges to arrest the menace of illicit distillation. During the course of raids, one woman namely Sunita Devi wife of late Raj Kumar resident of village Phinder was arrested under section 48 Excise Act and two bottles of illicit liquor were recovered from her possession.
More than 250 kg of Lahan and five bottles of illicit liquor were also recovered from the state-land which was destro-yed on the spot.
The raids were conducted under the overall supervision of Excise Commi-ssioner J and K T. Angchuk and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Exec-utive) Jammu Nage-ndra Singh Jamwal. The team was assisted by Inspector Ritesh Gupta and Sub Inspector Sandeep Kumar.
