KATHUA: The Excise Department destroyed one working still and 850 kilograms of Lahan while conducting raids here on Saturday.
On the directions of the Excise Commissioner, Mohammad Javed Khan and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Syed Muried Hussain Shah, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and Inspectors Excise Arun Kumar and Shadi Lal along with excise staff raided the Chakdrabkhan and Chibbachak areas of Kathua District to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process one working still and more than 850 Kgs of Lahan, were recovered by the raiding team from the State land. Later, the excise team destroyed the recovered Lahan on the spot.
