KATHUA: The Excise Department destroyed 700 Kgs Lahan while conducting raids here on Wednesday.
On the directions of the Excise Commissioner, Mohammad Javed Khan and supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and Inspector Excise Arun Kumar along with excise staff raided the Kangdyal, Sumwan and Dhabwal areas of Kathua District to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process, more than 700 kilograms of Lahan were recovered by the raiding team from the State land. Later, the excise team destroyed the recovered Lahan on the spot.
