JAMMU: Excise Department on Tuesday recovered 500 Kgs Lahan, 30 bottles of illicit liquor and arrested a woman while conducting raids against the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
Under the supervision of the Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Mohammed Shahid Saleem, the Excise Team Kathua led by Arun Kumar Inspector Excise under the command of Excise and Taxation Officer, Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and Excise and Taxation Officer, Eradication Wing Suresh Sharma raided the Chakdrabkhan, Dadoli, Mirpur Jaggu, Saktachak, Banyari, Ladwal and Kunderchak areas of Kathua District. In the process one person namely Sakina Devi, wife of Somdas, resident of Chaksakta was booked and recovered more than 500 Kgs of Lahan and 30 bottles of illicit liquor. The recovered 500 Kgs of Lahan was destroyed by the team on spot.
