KATHUA: Excise Department on Tuesday destroyed 1,850 Kg Lahan and one working still while conducting raids here.
On the directions of the Excise Commissioner, Mohammad Javed Khan and under the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Ghanshyam Singh, the Excise Team Kathua led by ETO Excise Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta, Inspectors Excise Arun Kumar and Shadi Lal along with excise staff raided Chartyala, Labhuchak, Barnoti and Chakdrabkhan areas of Kathua District to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor.
In the process one working still, five bottles of illicit liquor and more than 1,850 kilograms of Lahan were recovered by the raiding team from the State land. The excise team destroyed the recovered Lahan on the spot.
