Excise Deptt destroys 1100 Kg Lahan

KATHUA: Excise Department on Sunday recovered 1,100 Kg Lahan and arrested one person during raids in Jammu and Kathua Districts.
The raids conducted under the supervision of Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive), Jammu, Mohammed Shahid Saleem, the Excise Team Kathua under the command of ETO, Sandeep Gupta raided various areas of Kathua District i.e, Chakdrabkhan, Chabachak and Keengdayal and recovered more than 500 hundred Kg of Lahan and 30 big pouches of illicit liquor equivalent to 20 bottles of liquor.
Meanwhile another excise team consisting of Eradication Wing Jammu Excise South Range Jammu and under the command of ETO, Eradication, Jammu, Suresh Sharma, raided various areas of Jammu District i.e, Deoli, Makhanpur,Salehar, Dablehar, Tarachak, Kotlicharkhan, Kotlimainfateh, Phinder and Bishna and recovered more than 600 hundred kilo grams of Lahan. During the raid, the excise sleuths also arrested one Kamal Kumar son of Ramu Sansi, resident of Tarachak under Section 48 of the J&K Excise Act.
Later, the team destroyed the 1100 kg Lahan which were recovered during the raids.
In Udhampur, the excise team under the command of Excise Inspector, Rajesh Sharma laid a Naka on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway to check the Toll evasion. During Naka checking a total of 116 vehicles were put to check and in the process Rs. 8,250 was realized as fine from the toll evaders.
