JAMMU: J&K Excise Department, City Excise Range North and South, Jammu organised an anti drugs awareness programme at R L Public School, Arnia under its social responsibility corpus programme.
The event involved symposium on drunken driving and drug abuse.
Parshottam Choudhary, Principal of the School, gave a detailed lecture on the harmful effects of drugs. Around 150 students participated in this programme.
Rohit Sharma and Tinna Mahajan, ETOs, in their speech, highlighted the efforts of Excise Range North and South in creating awareness among the masses against the drug abuse. They requested all the participants to spread message against drugs so that this menace could be uprooted from the society.
The students and the participants took pledge to play vital role in spreading the message against the harmful effects of drugs and expressed their desire and hope to be part of such awareness programmes in future also.
The Excise Department is going to organise such programmes with the active co-operation and participation of youths, students and citizens, Rohit Sharma said.
The event was managed by Excise Team of North and South Excise Range led by ETOs Rohit Sharma and Tinna Mahajan; Inspectors Rajesh Chander, Imtiaz Mir, Irshad Mir and Sangeeta Charak and Sub Inspector, Sanjeev Lalotra under the supervision of Syed Muried Hussain Shah, DEC (Executive) Jammu, on the directions of Excise Commissioner, Javed Khan.
