NAGROTA: On the directions of Excise Commissioner, J&K UT, Pankaj Kumar Sharma, a rally was organised at Nagrota by the Excise Department as an initiative to promote cleanliness and hygiene.
It started from Govt Middle School Nagrota and culminated at Excise Training Institute Nagrota.
Teachers along with the students of Government Middle School Nagrota, local people, stakeholders and officers/ officials of Excise Department participated in rally.
The Swachhta rally was flagged off by Kusum Sharma, Deputy Excise Commissioner Executive Jammu.
Principal Excise Training Institute, Renu Kumari, and Deputy Excise Commissioner Accounts, Jammu, Sukriti Sharma also participated in the rally.
The event aimed to spread awareness about the importance of cleanliness and encourage community participation in maintaining a clean environment.
The students carrying banners and placards with messages on cleanliness, marched through the streets of Nagrota, chanting slogans that highlighted the significance of maintaining hygiene in public and private spaces.
Their enthusiasm and dedication to the cause were evident as they engaged with local residents, distributing pamphlets and encouraging them to adopt sustainable cleanliness practices.
Deputy Excise Commissioner Executive, Kusum Sharma, applauded the students for their active participation and emphasized the role of the younger generation in driving societal change.
“Cleanliness is not just a one-time effort but a continuous process. It is heartening to see our young students leading the charge in promoting Swachhta. Their energy and dedication inspire us all to contribute towards a cleaner and healthier India,” she said.
Renu Kumari, Principal Excise Training Institute, also lauded the students and highlighted the importance of education in fostering a sense of responsibility towards the environment. She stressed the need for ongoing awareness campaigns and community involvement to achieve the goals of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan.
The Excise Department is conducting a series of activities/events under Swachhta Pakhwara 2024 from 1st to 15th August. 2024. And the Swachhta rally is also a part of this Swachhta Abhiyan.
