JAMMU: Former Minister and J&K BJP Vice President Sham Lal Sharma narrowly escaped after his vehicle was hit by a truck on the outskirts of Jammu City on Monday.
The incident took place near Akhnoor on the Jammu-Poonch highway. While Sharma escaped unhurt, two persons, including his assistant and driver sustained minor injuries.
As per the details, the mishap took place around 1:30 PM when a speedily driven truck (JK02CX-8871) hit the former minister’s car (JK02CJ-1818) near Tanda area. The former minister was on way from his residence at Purkhoo to Bhambla for attending a function.
In mishap, his PA namely Naresh Kumar, driver Pardeep Singh received injuries. On receiving the information, police reached the spot and shifted the injured to hospital. The driver of the truck namely Arun Kumar, resident of Mera Madriyan was arrested and truck was seized. A case for rash and negligent driving was registered against him.
