Ex-central paramilitary personnel protest, project demands

JAMMU: Ex-Central Paramilitary Forces Welfare Association (CPFWA) on Saturday staged a protest here at Exhibition Ground against discrimination of the Central Government towards ex-personnel of paramilitary forces.
A large number of ex-servicemen of paramilitary forces under the leadership of Association President, R.L Dogra, assembled this morning here at Exhibition Ground and staged a protest demanding the benefits of OROP at par with defence forces.
“We requested the government many times to stop doing discrimination with soldiers and extend the benefit of OROP at par with defence forces to central paramilitary forces also,” Dogra added.
They demanded One Rank One Pension at par with defence personnel, revision of pension of pre-2006 retirees and widows pension at par with Supreme Court judgment, CSD facilities instead of CPC canteen, medical allowance Rs. 2,000 per month, medical facilities at par with ECHS, exemption from New Pension Scheme, etc.
Protesters appealed to the Central Government to reconsider the pay/pension as per para-military duties.
Others present in the protest were Dr Y.P Sharma, Som Nath Sharma, Thoru Ram, Surjeet Singh, Mohd Majid, Chaggar Singh, Nek Mohd, Bodh Raj, Mohan Lal, Prag Singh, Puran Singh and Rattan Lal.
