BHAWAN (KATRA): A retired Army man was arrested alongwith a country made pistol, thirteen live cartridges while he was standing in a queue to perform darshan at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine on late Friday evening.
The ex-serviceman identified as Anand Kumar, son of Ajeet Kumar, resident of Lane Number 6, Purani Mandi, Rohtak, Haryana has been arrested, police said.
“On suspicion, he was frisked and one country made, 13 live rounds and two empty magazines were recovered from his possession,” police added.”He was immediately detained on the spot and one of the police personnel namely Happy Kumar, deployed at Darshani Deodi, was placed under suspension for negligent duty.
“The matter is being investigated,” police said, adding that carrying of weapons is prohibited at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Cave Shrine.
