JAMMU: Taking a tough stand against land grabbers, Vice Chairman JDA Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Tuesday asserted that every inch of State/JDA land will be identified, demarcated and retrieved back from the clutches of land grabbers and encroachers.
He was speaking to media persons during anti-encroachment drive launched against the land mafia here in Sidhra.
He said that this operation against the land mafia at Sidhra was halted for two days owing to some procedural complexities. However, it has been again continued and Khilafwarzi Section under the command and control of Director Land Management JDA has been directed to act tough against the encroachers irrespective of their influence or status.
“They have further been instructed to lodge formal FIRs with respective Police Stations, in case they are influenced, obstructed or deterred to perform their legitimate duties,” VC JDA said.
It is also equally important to mention that the land was acquired in Sidhra for constructing Satellite Township of Jammu Development Authority but the same
has been allowed to be encroached over a period of time with the active support and nexus of JDA resulting into loss of crores to the state and JDA.
Director Land Management and Collector JDA besides police contingent from concerned police station were also present.
