KATHUA : The Special Mobile Magistrate, Sub Judge Kathua Sunil Sangra awarded one year’s simple imprisonment with a fine of Rs 2,000 to an eve teaser.
According to history of the case one Suresh Kumar son of Sanjee Ram resident of Kali Bari Kathua was arrested on the complaint of Yashoda Rani daughter of Dhananter Singh resident of Janglote, Kathua. The complainant on the day of occurance was waiting for matador at Janglot Bus stop on 11th January 2006 at 6:30 PM when the accused passed obscene remarks and held her hand. The accused did not stop here and further asked her to accompany him to a hotel. She got annoyed and lodged a complaint in Police Station Kathua. Accordingly an FIR 9/2006 under section 294 RPC was registered.
The case was investigated and presented by the police in the Court and after a trial for seven years, he was awarded simple imprisonment and a fine of Rs 2,000 by the Special Mobile Magistrate Sub Judge Kathua.
