JAMMU: The Co-ordination Committee of Estates Employees deferred ongoing strike launched by the employees of Estates Department, after holding meetings with the Director Estates.
The Director Estates told in the in meeting that the all demands of the employees are genuine and will be considered within short time period.
During the meeting the Director Estates assured to the representatives of Co-ordination Committee that on opening secretariat offices at Jammu he would convey a meeting of officers/representatives of the Co-ordination Committee for settlement of all agreed demands of the employees without any further loss of time.
Their demands include re-organization of Estates Department, regularization of daily rated workers, holding of DPC/Type test instead of computer test, release of wages in favour of casual/need based workers, release of orders of Time bound Promotion and its arrear due from 2006 to 2012, provision of two and a half day additional pay, issue appointment orders under SRO-43, construction of building for housing the office of Dy. Dir Estates near the office of the Executive Engineer Estates Division Jammu and implement of transfer policy and immediately transfer the engineering /clerical cadre employees those are sitting in the department since decades.
Earlier employees held a protest in front of the office of Executive Engineer Estates Division Jammu. Rash Paul Lal, Puran Chand, Tilak Raj, Subash Chandar, Sagar Massi, Ravi Sharma, Mohindar Pal, Kuldeeep Raj, Baljit Singh and Rajesh Kumar addressed the gathering.
