JAMMU: The Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) Regional Office in Jammu celebrated its 72nd Foundation Day, marking five years of dedicated service in the Union Territories of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh. The occasion, held under the leadership of Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-I Rizwan Uddin, highlighted the achievements of the office and honored outstanding officials who have contributed significantly to the organization’s success.
Addressing the gathering, Rizwan Uddin lauded the team’s commitment to service excellence and growth. He noted that the Jammu office had recorded a 9% increase in Administrative Account income for the financial year 2024-25, demonstrating remarkable progress from the previous year. Additionally, the membership base has grown by 21%, with account holders rising from 4,94,860 in 2023-24 to 5,98,174 in 2024-25. The rejection rate of claims also improved, dropping from 17% to 15%, a figure significantly better than the national average.
Uddin credited this success to a strong culture of volunteerism, proactive communication, and the effective implementation of the NAN 2.0 initiative. Through engagement with employers and public outreach efforts, EPFO Jammu has fostered a cooperative environment that has contributed to the organization’s positive trajectory.
EPFO Jammu introduced a flexi-working initiative in mid-2021, which has enhanced productivity and teamwork. Nearly 45% of daily claims are processed early in the morning between 7:00 AM and 9:20 AM, allowing for prompt service delivery. Many employees have volunteered additional hours to handle increased workloads, setting records in claim settlements.
Several dedicated officials received special recognition for their contributions.
Sanjeev Kumar, Senior Social Security Assistant, was celebrated for his extraordinary performance, settling 18,578 claims, including 132 death claims, within the financial year. He set a new standard by processing over 1,000 claims on multiple days, inspiring colleagues to increase their productivity.
Other honorees included Ashwani Gaind, Programmer, and Charan Singh, Senior Social Security Assistant, both of whom were acknowledged for their dedication and multitasking capabilities. Female employees, such as Meenakshi and Vinay Bala, played a critical role in the office’s success, with Meenakshi personally settling 8,217 claims, including 95 death claims, in 2024-25. Rakesh Kumar from the Cash Section displayed exceptional dedication by working on Diwali to ensure timely claim disbursements. In the Pension Section, Sh. Paramjeet Singh-I was praised for his efficient handling of pension payouts, while Sh. Pranav Gupta and Shri Pritpal Singh, Assistant Section Officers, were recognized for their effective decision-making and coordination. The Foundation Day event also highlighted the importance of volunteerism in fostering a cohesive work environment. Rizwan Uddin praised the team’s spirit, noting that a supportive and collaborative culture has led to higher morale and productivity. The 72nd Foundation Day underscored EPFO Jammu’s commitment to enhancing service delivery across Jammu, Kashmir, and Ladakh. With a focus on continued growth, the office remains dedicated to providing timely, reliable, and efficient services for its members.
