Ensure smooth flow of traffic on national highway: DC

RAMBAN: To ensure the smooth flow of vehicular traffic on NH1A, District Development Commissioner Ramban, Mohammad Aijaz on Thursday convened a high level meeting with the officers and representatives of construction companies of National projects operating in the district. The meeting was attended by SSP, Mohan Lal, SSP Traffic Sanjay Bhagat, ADC, Angrez Singh Rana, PD NHAI Jammu M.T Attarde and representatives of the companies IL&FS, HCC, GAMMON India, Navayuga, besides other officers.
Taking into account importance of prestigious four lane work, DC issued instructions to the companies engaged on job for removing all bottlenecks on National Highway.
DC directed the concerned authorities to ensure smooth and safer passage of the traffic by maintaining potholes and drainages besides ensuring proper maintenance of NH1A at all crucial places from Patnitop to Jawahar tunnel. Various measures being taken up by the construction companies in this connection were also discussed in the meeting.
During the meeting critical bottlenecks were identified at Dhalwas, Perah, Kunfer, Karol ,Mehar, Seri, Batery chashma, Digdole, Panthyal, Ramsoo and Hingni and deadline has been fixed for taking immediate necessary action. DDC asked the NHAI to open camp office in Ramban. Further NHAI was asked to ensure start of protection work on the sites of unsafe towers due to earth cutting and shifting of transmission line’s towers on priority basis so that execution work of four laning project is not delayed.
