SRINAGAR: Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Hassan Mir today called for making adequate provision of quality seeds and fertilizers for the farmers during the Rabi crop.
Chairing a high-level meeting of officers here today, the minister directed the concerned for timely steps for procuring the quality seeds and fertilizers for the Rabi crop so that the farmers do not face any inconvenience during the sowing season. He also called for increasing the revolving funds for the purchase of buffer stock of seeds and fertilizers as most of the seeds and fertilizers have been destroyed in the recent floods in the state.
The meeting was informed that one lakh quintals of seeds of food-grains, pulses and vegetables and over one lakh tones of fertilizers are required for ensuing Rabi season in the State.
Among others, Commissioner Secretary Agriculture Production, Dr. Asgar Samoon, Director, Agriculture Kashmir Mushtaq Ahmad, besides other officers of the department attended the meeting.
