English language connects diverse cultures, facilitates communication, opens door to endless opportunities: Principal JKPS Kunjwani

JAMMU: “English is not just a language, but a bridge that connects people, ideas, and cultures across the world. It opens doors to opportunities and knowledge enabling us to communicate and collaborate globally”. With such an impactful statement Mayukh Sharma from Grade 7th Galaxy alongwith his classmates conducted the Morning Assembly on the topic “Importance of English in today’s global world” at JK Public School Kunjwani.

Reflecting her views very efficiently, Shanaaya said, “English is a globally significant language, serving diversified roles in various spheres. Approximately 1.5 billion people speak English, with over 400 million being native speakers and the rest using it as a second or foreign language”.
“It is the most widely studied foreign language globally. English is an official or working language in major global organizations, including the United Nations, World Trade Organization (WTO), World Bank, and Olympic Games. It’s the default language for international aviation (regulated by ICAO) and maritime communication”, added Omkeshwar.
“English is a Link Language in India, which has 22 official languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution and more than 19,500 dialects. It serves as a link language to bridge communication gaps among linguistically diverse states and Union Territories (UTs)”, reflected Syna.
“The Indian Constitution recognizes English as an associate official language, complementing Hindi for administrative and legal purposes. It is the medium of instruction in a vast majority of Indian schools and universities, fostering inter-state academic collaboration”, opined Shirin Raina.
Throwing light on the prominent role of English as a significant Library Language, Janvi stated,
“Over 80% of academic content globally is published in English, making it a critical ‘library language’ for researchers and students. Its digital dominance may be understood by the fact that English constitutes 60% of the content on the internet, far surpassing other languages. It’s a unique standardized Knowledge Resource, as most scientific journals, research papers, and international textbooks are available in English”.
Karman Kour brilliantly established the role of English as the Business Language of the world by saying “Countries with higher English proficiency are reported to have stronger GDP per capita. English-speaking economies contribute to 70% of global trade. Multinational corporations like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon use English as their primary business language. Proficiency in English significantly improves employability; for instance, a 2019 study found that English-speaking workers earn 34% higher wages than their non-English-speaking counterparts in India”.
“The diversified roles of English ensure its status as a unifying language for global and regional purposes while being indispensable for accessing knowledge, fostering diplomacy, and enabling economic development”, concluded Prabhav.
Principal JKPS Kunjwani Rajesh Rathore applauded the presenters from Grade 7th Galaxy for enthralling the audience with brilliant reflections, polished diction and spirited performance. He said, “English serves as the bridge that connects diverse cultures, facilitates communication, and opens doors to endless opportunities. It is the language of negotiations, contracts, and international collaborations. It helps break down barriers, facilitating travel, international work, and global networking. Being able to communicate in English opens a world of opportunities, making it a skill worth-learning”.

For anyone looking to thrive in the modern world of professionalism and excellence, English is not just a language, it is the foundation for success”, he summed up.
