REASI: Manav Kalyan Jagriti Manch (MKJM) Katra on Wednesday launched a massive drive to restore electricity supply, as hundreds of electric lines were damaged due to flash-flood in various areas of district Reasi.
The activists of MKJM under the supervision Manch’s President, Karnail Singh, on Wednesday visited village Malad, where electricity supply have been disrupted since 1st September, 2014. The activists with the help of locals connected about 12 lines, supply to which was disconnected and lines were not repaired by PDD.
Team of MKJM activists, comprising of Pritam Verma, Sanjay Bhat, Kuldeep Singh, Koushal Sharma along with others had restored the supply in few houses. Meanwhile, the team also assessed the situation prevailed in various villages.
It was also learnt that in Panchyat Sarna, Kanji, Panasa, Soon Karyal and Chadi Muttal residents are still living without roof and government’s help.
Large number of houses in these areas have collapsed in hail storm and heavy rains. Meanwhile, the Manch also distributed dry ration to flood affected people.
President of the Manch, Karnail Singh appealed to the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, as well as Prime Minister to also focus far-flung areas, which are still un-touched in case of relief-rescue operation being run in the State.
