Election wastage

Dear Editor,
Democracy is not fit for a poor country like India. Elections are a wastage of money, manpower and machinery. Some people make a fortune out of it, but some lose their lives. As per Time Magazine, the deadliest election in India was during Rajiv Gandhi, when about 300 people lost their lives. The whole country gets involved in this race directly or indirectly once the elections are announced. The 2014 election cost about Rs 30,000 crore. The exchequer spent over Rs 7,000 crore to hold the electoral exercise for the 16th Lok Sabha. We need Governor-rule like government. Let real experts work for the country. It would yield better results.
