‘Action against manufacturer if any spurious substance found’

SAMBA: Eight women workers of Dewan Modern Beverages, Beer Manufacturing Company in Phase-II of Industrial Area of District Samba were admitted to the District Hospital Samba after complaining of uneasiness and unconsciousness on Sunday.
The women workers were cleaning empty bottles in the factory before complaining of headache, nausea and vomiting. They were taken to the district hospital.
They have been identified as Babli, Rajni Devi, Poonam Devi, Ritu Devi, Janaki Devi, Shakuntla Devi, Reema Devi and Reena Devi.
DC Samba, Anuradha Gupta, who arrived at District Hospital to ascertain the condition of women, while talking to reporters said that this incident took place at Dewan Modern Beer Factory in IGC Samba Phase-II.
The matter is under investigation and a strict action will be taken against the manufacturer, if use of any spurious substances is ascertained.
Only eight women were present in this wing of the factory and investigation is on to ascertain the cause of the incident, DC Samba added.
Police has also registered an FIR and started further investigations.
