Educational institutions celebrate Labour Day

JAMMU: Various education institutions celebrated International Labour Day to mark respect to Labour class.
Labour Day was celebrated at Delhi Public School, Udhampur with full aplomb. The function kicked off with a speech welcoming the workers and acknowledging their hard work.
The group song marked the beginning of the programme followed by a dance performance. The students with their rhythmic steps magnificiently showcased their dancing skills.
A speech by the Chairman of the School, Dr. J.C Gupta (LMC) lauded the ceaseless efforts of the work force of these workers and thanked them for their selfless services.
The Principal, Bindu Sharma and Vice Principal, Sucheta Gupta focused on the priceless contribution of the workers for the smooth functioning of the institution.
Workers were overwhelmed watching the function and expressed their gratitude towards the School Management, teachers and students for their endeavour.
RM Public School celebrated World Labour Day on Friday. Students and staff members of the school organised a special assembly for the menial staff members.
The purpose for organising this day was to make them feel proud. Students presented a melodious song dedicated to labours. Speeches were also made by the students of middle wing and students of pre- primary wing presented a skit on the different occupation of labour.
Staff members who give special contribution to this assembly was Shweta Gupta, Shivali Pathania, Mohit, Radhika and all the teachers of pre primary wing. Principal, Ravinder Kour expressed her gratitude to the staff members, students and helping members of the school.
Doon International School Jammu celebrated International Labour Day. The students presented a cultural show for all the class IV employees in a special assembly. The Principal, Vikesh Kaur appreciated the hard work put in by them for the smooth running of the organization.
She said that all strata of society is handicapped without their valuable contribution. All the employees were felicitated with a token of appreciation by the management. The employees thanked the Chairman G.N Tantrayand and Vice Chairman, M.A Tantray for their love and concern shown for them.
Labour Day in Army Public School, Akhnoor was celebrated in special assembly with full aplomb to appreciate the tireless, hard working workers of this institution.
Pradeep delivered a speech while the compering was done by Talitha Philip.
The junior students talked about ‘People who help us’ prepared by Jaswinder Kour and the senior school students presented a skit ‘Salaam Majdoor’ which was prepared by Vini Singh depicting how the absence of a maid could spoil the morning and cause the whole routine to go topsy-turvy unnerving the family members totally and the absence of a peon in an institution is almost unthinkable as it means a lot of mismanagement and chaos because they are the ones who run errands the whole daylong to keep things going.
Principal, K.C.S Mehta distributed a small token of appreciation on behalf of Chairman Brig Rajendra Joshi and honoured the workers of the institution. He highlighted the need, importance and significance of the role of these workers in our life. He also emphasized upon the value of dignity of labour which helps a person to become more humane and responsible towards his fellow beings.
Labour Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm and zeal at Noble Hearts School Udheywala and Talab Tillo. A special assembly was conducted to make the students understand the achievements of workers or helpers in our society.
Students of Std II had prepared a special programme wherein they were dressed up as different helpers and explained how they were important for the society. Std V students were dressed up as what they wanted to become when they grow up and how they would be helpful for the society and the nation.
The Principal of the School, Shalini Bhakri told the students about the importance of the day and why it was observed. It is observed all over the world to mark the achievements of the workers. In India it is celebrated in order to honour the contribution of working men and women.
She further told the students that Labour Day in India or May Day was first celebrated in Chennai on 1st May, 1923.
The NSS wing of Government Polytechnic, Bikram Chowk Jammu celebrated World Labour Day in the college. The Chief Guest of the function was Er. Arun Bangotra, Principal of the college who appreciated the efforts of all Class IV and labour class for their sincere efforts in performing their duties with full dedication and their contribution towards the society.
He further said that to achieve a common goal everyone from bottom management to higher level should be involved and work hard in one direction.
Er Ajay Thapa, Programme Officer of NSS wing threw the light on the importance of the Labour Day. A cultural programme was organized by students of NSS, in which all the Class IV workers and labour class of the college participated and enthralled the audience with various dance items, singing etc.
Others present were Er. Inderjeet Singh, Er. K. S Manhas and Er K.S Bhatia. The student volunteers who organised the program are Arjun Rajput, Mahima Sharma, Himanshu Badyal of 2nd semester.
On the occasion of International Labour Day, the students of Delhi Public School Jammu came together to pay gratitude to the support staff of the school like maids, peons, conductors, cleaners, ground men and labourers etc.
Various activities were organised by the students of the Primary Block, in which they participated with great enthusiasm. The students of class II made collage, class III paid their gratitude to the hard working cleaners of the school for cleaning the library whereas the students of Pre-Primary Block and class IV made ‘Thank You’ greeting card for the support staff, conductors and maids for their painstaking Job.
Class V students made colourful pots for the helping staff of the school as a token of Thanks.
Additional Director / Principal DPS Jammu, Dr. D. Joseph highlighted the importance of the work done by the support staff and also expressed her thanks to all of them. Sangeeta Jain, Coordinator, Primary Block also thanked the concerned staff for making the school neat and clean.
Brig. Khuda Baksh Memorial Public School Higher Secondary School on Friday celebrated International Labour Day. A party was organised in the Principal Office with all labourer and peons working in the school and discussed on various problems. Principal, S.K Ali greeted all labourers and peons and give message to those how they are important for the school and system.
Administrator, Shokat Javed had greeted all workers. Vice Principal, Ravinder Kour, Pranav Jha and H.K Sharma were also present.
