Educational institutions celebrate Janamashtami with religious fervour

JAMMU: Various institutions celebrated Janamashtami with enthusiasm and religious fervour, here on Wednesday.
Jammu Sanskriti School (JSS), Jammu celebrated the pious festival of Janamashtami with religious fervour in the school campus, here on Wednesday.
Children dressed in fancy clothes as mythological characters added fervour to the auspicious day. A special assembly was organised to celebrate this festival. The primary wing started the assembly with devotional song. The senior classes presented a dance drama.
Breaking of Dahi -Handi added colour to the festive programme and amused the staff and students. The programme ended by the greetings from Principal-cum-Vice Chairperson Rohini Aima who congratulated the staff and the students and impressed upon them to preserve the socio-cultural heritage of the country.
School management conveyed their best wishes to the students, staff and their families on the auspicious occasion of Shri Krishna Janamastami.
Stephens International Public School (SIPS) celebrated Janamashtmi with great gusto. Colourful programme was presented by the students. Students dressed as Lord Krishna and Radha for the function enhanced the stage presentation. Dignitaries present in the functions were Amarjeet Singh, Satvinder Saini, Shibu Mathew K, Vikesh Sandhal, teachers and students.
Delhi Public School (DPS) Nagbani students took part in the celebration of Janamashtami by wearing colourful attires of Radha, Krishna, Sudama, Gopis and Gawalas. The students presented songs and dance items depicting the events from Krishna’s life. The students also took part in Handi and Mukut decoration. The main attraction of the programme was the Matki Fodh event.
The theme of the programme was to show the life and holy messages of Lord Krishna. The importance of the festival was explained to the students by Sonia Sharma – Hindi Teacher.
Principal appreciated the efforts of the students and the teachers in making this programme a grand success. In the end, the cutest Radha and Krishna were chosen and given the prizes by the principal. Ajatshatru Singh – Chairman/Trustee – Maharaja Hari Singh Social and Education Foundation, Ritu Singh-Trustee, Adishree Singh-Trustee, Ranvijay Singh-Trustee and S.S Sodhi-Director also conveyed their best wishes to the students on the holy festival of Janamashtami.
Vishwa Bharati Public Higher Secondary School, Akalpur, celebrated Janamashtami. The programme initiated with Shri Krishna Vandana. The tiny tots of Pre Primary Wing displayed their talent in a fancy dress competition. The Principal, Prof. Annapurna Koul congratulated the students and teaching faculty and accentuated them to follow the path of Bhagwat Gita shown by Lord Krishna.
The little angles who won fancy dress competition were Divyanshu and Akash first, Aradhya and Mithilesh second and Yashasvi and Ranveer third from class Nursary. From class Ist Parth stood first, Tejasvi and Mansi second and Ehna and Pranav third. From class SKG Satyajeet and Mehak first, Ekansh and Sayam second and Suhani and Prince third.
JK Police Public School, Miran Sahib celebrated Janamashtmi with devotion. The school conducted special assembly in which students of different houses participated actively.
The programme began with a prayer followed by a lecture delivered by the students of class XI, Preeti Choudhary.
an Inter-House dance competition was also organised in which students presented Krishan Leela, Ras Leela, Bal Leela and Makhan Chori. First prize was bagged by Ambedkar House whereas second prize was secured by Subash House and second runners up was shared by Gandhi and Nehru House.
Sanjeev Pradhan, Principal of the School, congratulated the teachers and the students for their contribution and also wished them all on the eve of Janamashtmi. He also gave away the prizes to the winners.
SOS Hermann Gmeiner School celebrated Janamashtami with enthusiasm. Two students spoke on the importance of the day. The students presented a dance and song.
The tiny tots of Kindergarten presented a beautiful dance from Govinda Ala Re, while there was a Bhajan Recital as well. Principal, R.K. Dhar urged the students to follow the teachings of Lord Krishna as depicted in Holy Bhagwad Gita.
May Fair Schools, Chinore, Chand Nagar, Janipur Branches celebrated Janamashtmi. Raj Bharti, social worker of J and K was the Chief Guest. Around 500 children from Nursery to Classes 8 of all the three branches took part in the celebration. They were dressed as Krishan and Radha and performed Ras Leela. Kite Making and Krishna Jhula making Competition was also organised for class 4 onward students.
Raj Bharti along with Vijay Kumar Basur Chairman-May Fair Schools, Jammu, Ashwani Sharma MD-Gold Advertiser distributed the prizes and certificates to the best dressed kids and winners in other activities.
Anita Basur Hon. Secretary-May Fair Schools, Radhika Basur, Abhey Basur Trustees-May Fair School, Lalita Chadha-School Administrator and Ranjit Kour Principal May Fair School Janipur were also present. Ritu and Arti Pre Primary Coordinator along with the Coordinator Activities Archana, Neha, Ritu Banotra and staff of all the three branches conducted the celebrations.
Shiksha Niketan Senior Secondary School, Jeevan Nagar celebrated Janamashtami with enthusiasm. Rameshwar Mengi, Principal of the School along with the incharges was the guest of the occasion.
The programme was commenced by the breaking of Matki at the very entrance of the school by the principal.
After that the programme began with swinging of cradle of Lord Krishna.
A beautiful dance performance of little toddlers of Pushpa Vatika of Jeevan Nagar was performed. Then a beautiful item on the same theme was presented by the students of Gandhi Nagar branch.
Another beautiful dance-cum-skit was performed by the students of Middle and High Wing of Jeevan Nagar.
All the items were equally praise worthy and also gave a message to remain intact with our own culture and tradition.
Principal threw light on the importance of the day and gave his wishes and blessings to all.
Janamashtami was celebrated with great religious fervour at DPS Udhampur. The celebration started with the holy chants from Bhagavad Gita.
A cultural programme was presented by the Pre-Primary Wing of the school. An inter-house dance competition was also organised in the school in which students were judged by the parents greet. Atharva Veda House emerged as winner.
Various competition were organized for fathers in which Jugal Kishore, Sohan’s father Class-Prep A emerged winner in Kite making competition.
Harpreet Singh, Jastej’s Father of Class Prep-A, emerged winner in plait making competition. The winner of kite flying competition was Vikas Thaapa, father of Yatish Thappa of Prep -B.
The Chairman of the School, Dr. J.C Gupta said that this day has spiritual importance, on this day a divine power had come on earth to relieve everyone from pain misery and to spread message of kinship and fraternity.
The MD of the School, Vivek Gupta, Principal Yogeshwari Rathore, Vice-Principal Sucheta Gupta and Sunita Gupta were also present.
Krishna Janmashatami was celebrated with enthusiasm at KC International School. A special assembly was conducted by Ruby House. The little Krishna and Radha looked adorable in their traditional costumes and the entire area was transformed into a land of joy, celebration and happiness. The main attraction of the programme was breaking of Dahi Handi by little Krishna. The programme concluded by the vote of thanks by Vice Principal Anupama Sinha. She thanked the Activity Coordinator Rajni Malhotra, music teachers, dance teachers, Ruby House master and all the students who worked hard to make this special event a success one. Principal Maya Mishra wished Happy Janmashatami to all KCites.
Delhi Public School (DPS) Jammu organized special assembly with gusto and enthusiasm. The event started with a brief introduction by the comperes Kriti Gupta-XII F and Rajansh Vashishth XI B of Yamuna House. It was followed by the presentation by the School Choir with the song “Krishna Jinaka Naam Hai, Gokul Jinka Dham Hai” and mesmerizing performances in instrumental music. Gourang-VI D, Rhythm-VII and Divyan-VII I played Raag Bhopali on Violin, Vrindha-VI A and Aneesh-IX J played a light tune on Guitar, while Akarshit-VIII H gave a heart touching performance on Sitar on Raag Khamaj.
Principal, Ruchi Chabra gave away prizes to winners of different Inter School Competitions. Headmistress, Meenu Gupta congratulated and appreciated the performers. Also present on the occasion were Malhotra, School Administrator, Karandeep, Manager Operations and R.C Gupta, Accounts Officer. Usha Dhar, House Warden, Yamuna House, presented the vote of thanks.
Krishna Janamashtmi was celebrated with great enthusiasm at SNS Vidya Mandir, Camp Road here. Students of different classes spoke on the occasion and some students performed group songs and Krishna Bhajans. Tiny Toddlers wearing costumes of Radha Krishna and performed Jhanki. A painting competition was also organized wherein students made paintings on Janamashtmi. Principal, Neelam Sabharwal told the students about the importance of Janamashtmi.
Manager Rajinder Kakkar also appreciated the students and distributed sweets among them.
Spring Dales celebrated Janamashtami in the premises of the school with fervour and gaiety. Under the guidance of Pooja Mahajan, it was a fun-filled entertaining show in which songs and dances in praise of Kanha were displayed.Programme was presided over by Usha Gupta, Principal of the School and Prof.R.K Gupta, Director of the School. Cash prize of Rs.200 was given to Kritica for singing Melodius Bhajan by Prof. R.K Gupta.
Simran and Riyanka won cash prize of Rs.250 each for dancing on the tunes of Radha Kaise Na Jale. In the end, Dahi Handi stole the show where Govindas came dancing on the tunes of Go Go Govinda Song and broke Dahi Handi. Prof.R.K Gupta told students to follow the teachings of Lord Krishna.
