New Delhi, Nov 11 (PTI) With an aim to spread awareness about personal hygiene as a key to prevention of disease, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation here today launched a ‘clean hand, healthy body’ campaign.
The campaign was kicked off by East Delhi Mayor Meenakshi at ward no 265, Municipal Primary School at Shiv Vihar in Shahdara (North) Zone area of trans-Yamuna.
The campaign is dedicated to create awareness about washing hands with soap as a key approach to disease prevention and healthy body.
“Prevention is better than cure and if we make it a habit to wash our hands with soap, we can cure various diseases and would be healthier,” she said.
She also said the motto of the campaign is to sensitise students of EDMC schools about cleanliness and hygiene.
A number of principals of EDMC primary schools and officials of various department were also present on the occasion.
Doctors present on the occasion detailed the right steps to wash hands to the students present.
