Earth Hour: Raj Bhavan circulates mail half an hour before

JAMMU: While the Earth Hour was to be observed for one hour on Saturday but the mail circulated by the State Information Department on behalf of the Raj Bhavan was circulated at least 30 minutes prior to the completion of hours.
The Earth Hours were observed across the State from 2030 hours to 2130 hours (one hour) but the State Information Department on behalf of the Raj Bhawan circulated official mail at 2106 hours, around 24 minutes before the end of the Earth Hour.
The official hand out said, “Raj Bhawan Jammu observed the “Earth Hour” today evening by switching off all non-essential lights at 8:30 PM, for one hour”.
“Earth Hour” is a global initiative of World Wide Fund for Nature and the world’s largest grass root movement for the protection of environment. Citizens around the world are uniting to observe “Earth Hour” to enlarge awareness about the arising serious consequences of Climate Change and persuade people all over the globe to save energy by switching off non-essential lights even though, symbolically, only for one hour.
