JAMMU: District Youth Services and Sports Officer (DYSSO), Chanchal Kour on Tuesday declared open the inter-school boys under-14 and under-17 competitions of Gandhi Nagar Zone at Guru Harkrishan Public School, here.
Principal of host School, Rita Popli was Special Guest, who interacted with the participating teams.
She exhorted upon the participants to take part in the competition in true spirit of sportsmanship.
Earlier, Zonal Physical Education Officer (ZPEO), Anju Gupta presented a brief note of the activities.

KHO-KHO: Under-14: MS Langer bt MS Channi Himmat by seven points; APS Sunjwan bt Government HS Digiana by 13 points. KHO-KHO: Under-17: Government MS Kaluchak bt GHSS Surinsar by nine points; HSS Khuda Baksh bt HSS bahu Fort by one point. VOLLEYBALL: Under-14: Maharishi Vidya Mandir bt Doon International School 2-0; KB Public School bt MUM 2-0. KABADDI: Under-14: MS Railway Colony bt HS Bain Bajalta by nine points. Under-17: GHS Gandhi Nagar bt HS Qasim Nagar by two points; HSS Channi Himmat bt GHS Sagooon by one point.
JAMMU ZONE:
Meanwhile, the inter-school zonal level competition of Jammu zone was declared open by Chief Guest, Joint Director (retired) Fire Services, Subash Verma while Principal, Bhartya Vidya Mandir, Amphalla, Jammu, Reenu Rajput was Guest of Honour.
In girls under-14 Kho-Kho event, High School Rajpura defeated SOS by one point to claim the title. In the semifinals, SOS beat HS Tophsherkhania by one point while High School Rajpura trounced Anuradha Public School by five points.
Similarly, in under-14 girls Kabaddi final, High School Rajpura lost to Chak Changerwan by eight points. In the semifinal, HS Rajpura bt Bhartiya Vidya Mandir by 11 points.
