DYSS Inter School Taekwondo Championship in full swing at Poonch

POONCH: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Zone Poonch, organized an exciting Inter-School Taekwondo Competition for boys and girls in the under-14 and under-17 age groups with great enthusiasm.
The event, part of the activity calendar issued by the Directorate of Youth Services and Sports J&K, was held under the direction of Director Subash Chander Chibber and Joint Director Ved Parkash. It was supervised by District Youth Services and Sports Officer Poonch, Mool Raj Uttam, and Zonal Physical Education Officer Narinder Singh.
The competition, attended by around 200 young athletes, was graced by Colonel S.S. Purewal as the Chief Guest. He was joined by Zonal Physical Education Officer Narinder Singh, retired DYSSO Prem Parkash Luthra, and REKs Aman Kumar, Kernail Singh, Ritika Sharma, and Prabhjot Kour.
Rajinder Singh, Physical Education Teacher and Taekwondo Coach, welcomed the participants and highlighted the Department’s role in channeling youth energy positively through various events.
Colonel Purewal addressed the crowd, commending the Department for providing a valuable platform for the youth of Poonch and encouraging participants to compete with true sportsmanship.
All matches were conducted under the technical supervision of Rajinder Singh, Pawandeep Singh, Jatinderpaul, Gurpreet Singh, Aman Kumar, Ritika Sharma, Sandeep Kumar, and Kernail Singh. Additional support was provided by Iqbal Kour, Majid Hussain, Sohan Singh, Anmol Singh, Sarvjeet Singh, Wushu coach Ashaq Hussain, and PDTA referee.
The event successfully showcased the talent and sportsmanship of young players in the region.
