JAMMU: Director General of Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS), Naveen Agarwal has reaffirmed his commitment to implement the Centrally Sponsored Scheme of Rajiv Gandhi Khel Abhiyan (RGKA) in the State.
The DG was speaking to the officers of the DYSS in a meeting held here. He told the officers concerned to ensure speedy implementation of the RGKA programme at the school level in letter and spirit.
The meeting also discussed the smooth and successful conduct of the upcoming National School Games in the discipline of Badminton (under-14 boys and girls) at Jammu.
The meeting was attended besides others by Deputy Director, Kanchan Bala, Assistant Director, Rupinder Jeet Kour and district officers, Sukhdev Raj (Jammu), Ayaz Khan (Poonch), Dr. Swaran Singh (Reasi) and Sukdev Singh.
Meanwhile, the first State contingent in the discipline of Kho-Kho girls under-19 year, comprising 12 players and two officials, was also dispatched to Ujjan in Madhya Pradesh for participation in 60th National School Games. The contingent is accompanying by Rakesh Kumar and Sujata Kumari as Manager and Coach respectively.
