SRINAGAR: The Deputy Chief Minster, Dr Nirmal Singh on Friday extended his felicitations to wrestler Sakshi Malik, who won the bronze medal in the Rio Olympics yesterday. In his message of felicitations, the Deputy Chief Minister said Sakshi has brought laurels to the country by becoming the first sportsperson from India to win a medal in the 2016 Olympics. He said it is also result of the various girl child centric policies of the centre which have started to bear fruit and further hoped that India would win more medals It is pertinent to mention that Sakshi Malik has won Bronze Medal in women’s wrestling 58 kg category at the 2016 Rio Olympics and became the first ever Indian female to claim a medal in wrestling at the Olympics.
