REASI: Deputy Chief Minister Dr. Nirmal Singh convened a meeting to review the status of ongoing developmental works of Housing and Urban Development Department and power sector here today.
Minister of State for Finance and Planning Ajay Nanda, Deputy Commissioner Ravinder Kumar, SSP Tahir Bhat, Director H&UDD Arun Kumar Sharma, ACR Abdul Satar, SDM Katra Neelam Khajuria and senior officers of various departments were present in the meeting.
Taking a review of the ongoing works and functioning of the department the Dy CM instructed the concerned to expedite the process for shifting of Rehris from Bus Stand and take other measures in time bound manner for expansion of bus stand besides resolving parking problem. On the issue of construction of toilet complex by Sulabh at Katra, Dy CM stressed upon the officers to strictly adhere to the work chart and follow fixed time line.
To improve basic facilities in the Reasi town, the Minister sanctioned toilet complex near Zanana Park which would provide better facilities to people. He said all such public utilities would play pivotal role in ensuring proper sanitation of the towns.
While laying focus on the officers for speedy construction of Solid waste management plant at Katra, Dr. Singh asked them to float tender immediately for early start of the work. He also asked them to vigorously follow up land and other related issues with revenue department to remove the bottlenecks. For unregistered Rehris in the towns, the DyCM emphasized upon the Municipality Reasi and Katra to demarcate special zones and ensure early registration of these vendors so as to provide them proper places to carry out their business activities and avoid decongestion in the town. The Deputy Chief Minister stressed upon the officers to ensure full implementation of PSGA and ensure effective and prompt service delivery mechanism.
Later, Dy CM also sought details regarding of damages to power infrastructure due to thunder storm in Pouni, Reasi, Arnas, Mahore, Gulabgarh, Bomag, Chassana and other areas and asked the concerned to restore power supply in these areas on war footing.
