STATE TIMES NEWS
JAMMU: Continuing with its past practice, Dogra Sadar Sabha (DSS) is going to celebrate ‘Save the Birds Day’ on 2nd June 2015.
This was stated by President DSS Gulchain Singh Charak here on Friday.

He said that event will be organised in collaboration with Wild Life Protection Department, J and K at Dogra Hall, Jammu.
He said that a large number of Sarpanchs, Panchs, Numberdars, Chowkidars, other prominent persons of the civil society and large number of students hailing from different educational institutions are going to take part in the programme. Sabha will provide them the earthen pots to be installed at different places filled with water for the birds.

The programme is a part of campaign towards saving the birds in which Sabha distributes earthen pots to school and college students, villagers and members of the civil society.

He also explained the significance and motive behind organising this event. He said that several ponds and other water resources have been vanished and the dearth of water is posing threat to birds hence this initiative is taken by the DSS.

He also appealed to people and students to take part in the event so as to propagate the message of saving birds and conserving ecology.
